Trip overview

When the snow flies, we trade the river for the ridge. The Wasatch backcountry around Park City turns into some of Utah’s best snowshoe terrain - quiet aspen-lined trails, powder bowls, and ridge climbs with views that stretch across the range. No skis required - if you can walk, you can snowshoe.

Our guides know the trails and the day’s conditions, so the route adapts to your group. Beginners get gentle aspens-and-meadows loops. Experienced groups can push for longer ridge climbs and bigger views. Either way the pace is yours.

Two ways to book

  • Standard tour - you may be paired with another small group. Best value, same guide, same routes. $90 / pp (2-guest minimum).
  • Private tour - guaranteed your group only, easier scheduling, more flexibility on route. $105 / pp (2-guest minimum), or $165 solo.

Tours run 7 days a week with multiple times throughout the day. About 2 hours on snow.

Special variations

  • Moonlight snowshoe - the trails after dusk feel different. Quiet, lit by the snow itself. Not on the calendar; contact us to arrange.
  • Custom routing - kids in the group, photo priorities, fitness goals, specific terrain - tell us what matters and we’ll shape the tour around it.

What to know before you book

We provide snowshoes, trekking poles, the guide, and transportation from the meet point to the trailhead - all you bring is warm layers, a waterproof shell, and insulated boots. Avalanche-aware route selection is part of the guide’s job; routes change with conditions and we always pick safe terrain. The Utah sun is intense even in February - bring sunglasses and sunscreen.

Common questions

Do I need experience to snowshoe?
Not at all. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Your guide handles instruction, picks the route, and adapts the pace to the group.
How fit do I need to be?
We pace ourselves and pick loops based on your group. Snowshoeing is low impact and easy on old injuries or joints - you don't have to hike far to enjoy the views. Tell us up front about any concerns and your guide will adjust.
Where do we meet?
Meet point is shared in your booking confirmation - it varies by trail and conditions on the day. We pick safe, accessible terrain based on the snowpack and avalanche outlook. Call 1-801-703-3357 if you need it ahead of time.
What do you provide?
Snowshoes, trekking poles, an experienced winter guide, hot drinks and trail snacks, and transportation from the meet point to the trailhead.
What should I wear?
Warm layers (avoid cotton), a waterproof outer shell, insulated waterproof boots, hat, gloves, and sunglasses. Bring a water bottle. The high-altitude winter sun is intense even in February - sunscreen too.
Is it safe in the backcountry?
Avalanche-aware route selection is part of the guide's job. We check daily conditions and the Utah Avalanche Center forecast before every tour, and we choose routes appropriate to the day's hazard.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes - $105/person (2-guest minimum) or $165 solo. Same routes, guaranteed your group only, easier scheduling. Book the standard tour ($90/pp) if you don't mind being paired with another small group.
Can we book a moonlight snowshoe?
Yes - those aren't on the calendar; contact us to arrange. The trails after dusk feel different - quiet, lit by the snow itself. Memorable.
What ages can come?
All ages welcome. Kids who can walk a half-mile loop in winter clothing typically have a great time. Tell us their ages when you book and we'll pick a kid-friendly route.
