Trip overview

The same Wasatch ridges we snowshoe in winter open up into some of Utah’s best summer hiking. Wildflower meadows, aspen groves, and overlooks that take in the whole range. Your guide picks the trail, so the hike fits your group instead of the other way around.

We have been guiding hikers around Park City for years, and the thing guests mention most is not the view. It is that somebody who knows the terrain called ahead, asked what they were after, and chose a trail that actually matched.

How our Park City hiking tours work

  • Your guide calls before the hike to talk through fitness, interests, and what you want out of the day.
  • Route picked to fit - gentle meadow loops for families and first-timers, longer ridge climbs for groups who want to work.
  • Small groups. 2-guest minimum. Private groups welcome.

Tours start at 10am or 1pm and run about 3 hours on trail.

Good to know

Park City sits above 7,000 feet, so drink more water than feels necessary, and tell your guide if you have just flown in from sea level. They will set the pace to match. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in July and August, which is why most hikes start in the morning. Snow lingers on higher trails into early summer; your guide knows what has melted out and will route around what has not.

Bring sturdy shoes and layers. We cover poles, snacks, water, and the ride to the trailhead.

Common questions

How fit do I need to be?
If you can walk, we can find you a hike. Your guide calls ahead to talk through fitness and interests, then picks a trail to match. We have routed easy meadow loops for families and longer ridge climbs for groups who wanted a workout.
What time do tours start?
Two starts a day, 10am and 1pm. Morning is the safer pick in July and August, when afternoon thunderstorms are common.
Will I feel the altitude?
Most people notice it only as being a little more out of breath on the climbs. Park City sits above 7,000 feet, so drink more water than feels necessary, and tell your guide if you have just flown in from sea level. They will set the pace to match.
What do you provide?
An experienced local guide, trekking poles, trail snacks and water, and transportation from the meet point to the trailhead. You bring comfortable walking shoes, layers, sun protection, and a water bottle.
Where do we meet?
Meet point is shared when we confirm your booking. It varies by trail, and the trail varies with conditions and what your group is after. Call 1-801-703-3357 if you need it ahead of time.
Can kids come?
Yes. Tell us their ages when you book and your guide will pick a trail that works for them. Shorter loops with a payoff view tend to land better than long climbs.
What time of year do you run hikes?
Roughly June through October, depending on how long the snow lingers at elevation. Early summer can still have snow on the higher trails, and your guide will route around it. In winter the same terrain becomes our snowshoe tours.
What happens if the weather turns?
Afternoon thunderstorms are common in July and August, which is why most hikes start in the morning. If conditions look unsafe your guide will change the route or the time, and we will work with you to reschedule if it comes to that.
How do I book?
Book online and pick a 10am or 1pm start. There is a 2-guest minimum. For a private group, a different start time, or if you want to talk through which trail suits you, send us a note or give us a call.
